Irish dancing classes
Would you like to be the next Gene Butler or Micheal Flatley, win lots of trophies and medals, make new friends, take part in competitions, shows and displays and get plenty of exercise???
If so why not come along and join our Irish dancing classes.

About our class... We are a small class situated on the South side of Dublin.
Our dancers range from beginners to champions.
Boys and girls of any grade or standard and aged from 4 years upwards are welcome to join our Irish Dancing Classes.
We cater for children who would one day like to become a world champion or also for those who would simply like to come along for the exercise and fun.
Our classes run three times a week;

Monday at 6.00 pm (beginners and advanced)
Thursday at 5.00 pm (advanced only)
Saturday at 11.30 am (beginners and advanced)

We like to show off our beautiful dancers and their skills by taking part in various shows and displays around Dublin.
We have just recently returned from the U.S.A where some of our dancers took part in the World championships after qualifying for the event through their regional championships.
And proir to that we went to Killarney for the all-Ireland championships and returned victorious with three all-Ireland medals.

Although it is hard work preparing for these events we like our dancers and parents to have lots of fun and enjoy themselves when we travel.
We also fund raise when possible,to keep the cost down for parents.
One of the new ways,we found to raise funds this year,was to ask parents to donate their loyalty points from Irish Dance Wear.
The way it works is when they make a purchage from the web site they donate their loyalty points to the class account which I set up on the Irish Dance WEAR site.
And when we build up our points we cash them in and get prises for raffles such as ( pomp's"shoes etc)
things that will benefit the class and that raises funds for travel and other things.

We incorporate a lot of fitness into our classes as we believe fitness is a huge aspect in taking part and doing well in big feiseanna as well as being of huge benefit to any dancer.
Our class costumes are green, white and orange and we have a beautiful beginners outfit for those just starting off.
We pride ourselves in always having a good friendly atmosphere in class and showing good sportsmanship at feiseanna.We like to have fun, win or lose!!

About me.......My name is Mary Devine. I was a dancer myself from the age of 4 and have been involved in Irish dancing ever since. I have competed in major championships such as Leinster, all-Ireland's and world championships and have travelled to England, Scotland, many states in America and even Spain during my competitive years. At 22 years of age I sat my teachers exams and have been teaching for over 8 years now.

I have great passion for Irish dancing and love seeing children having fun and getting exercise while doing something they love.

As we all know there are certain times of the year when all dancers need to be at their top fitness level. Such as when major events start to happen (Regional, qualifiers, all Ireland, worlds etc) and you want every child dancing on top form.

As a past dancer, having been placed in the top three many times in majorc ompetitions, all Ireland and world championships ect, and winning the Leinster championships 7 years in a row I understand the extra work and training that is needed.

I am a fully qualified fitness instructor for the past nine years, training many different sports associated people and have been training and assisting dancers of all level.

I would like to introduce my style of fitness to your class.

Dancers are going to dance class 3, 4 or even 5 times a week, so while this is improving there steps, technique, and carriage etc, their over all fitness, strength and endurance will not get much better.

A dancer is constantly using the same muscles every time they dance, there for the muscles they are not using are being neglected and wasted. If these other muscles are being used by doing different exercises then this will make the dancers legs much stronger and gives them so much more power in there legs when they dance. I can not stress how much these extra fitness classes for a dancer are needed or how much a dancer can benefit from them.

My style of fitness for dancers has become very popular and I am currently working with many schools and individual dancers (Irish and all other type of dance) and again I can not stress enough how beneficial this is and how much it has improved the dancers I have worked with. Not only have I worked with dancers in Ireland, I have also worked with many schools in the UK and USA giving fitness work shops.

I am very pleased to be invited over seas to work with these schools

So why not give me the chance to help you as an individual or to come in to your class to help your dancers to improve their all over fitness, stamina, endurance, flexibility to bring extra strength and power to their legs, bring extrs spring, bounce and hight to lifts and jumps, strengthen up their core for posture, improve their carriage, advise them on the correct fuel needed for performing and many more things that will push them that little bit further.This can be done as group fitness, or as one to one outside class time.

I would appreciate if you could pass this information on to the pupils of your class and I would be more than willing to help them as an individual.
